Self: 2014 | Introducing The Finer Things Club

introduction uk lifestyle blog films reviews books the finer things club blog

I'm Bee. I'm twenty one. I'm a creative writer, a veteran procrastinator, a reader and a seasoned lifestyle blogger. I have a penchant for collecting books, watching terrible television on lazy afternoons and remembering song lyrics more than I remember people's names. 2013 was a pretty hard year for me, but it was also the year that I learnt a great deal about myself, my motivations and others around me. I'm hoping 2014 will be the year that I realise my creative potential, work hard to move forward and learn to get to sleep before 4am.

Hey, I'm Luke. I'm a gamer, painter, dreamer, schemer, collector and fully fledged movie fanatic! I love films - so much so that if my life was made into a film, it would be about a film in a film, that's also in another film. 2013 was a big year for me, with my graduation from university sat right in the middle of it. The second half of that year, for me, was about facing big decisions post-full time education (and also about which next-gen gaming console would find itself a cosy new home underneath my telly). So, what's in store for 2014? More films to watch, models to paint and games to complete, of course! On a slightly more serious note, I'm really hoping to explore my own creative writing potential, and see if I can take all the things I love in life and make them into something more.

We are The Finer Things Club and we hope you'll join us every Wednesday and Sunday in 2014 for posts on movies, adventures, challenges and everything in between.

now that we've told you a bit about us, TELL US...

  8. Wow this blog looks pretty cool! I am really curious how it turns out and excited to read all your posts. Well, I'm Desi, 14 years old and from the Netherlands. (So if this is really crappy english, that's the reason ;) ) I like blogging (www.spread-your-wingsss.blogspot.nl) , making photographs, baking cookies and cake, be creative and of course I like watching movies and reading books. I'll definitely read your post on sunday. My goals for 2014? I want to watch/read 150 movies/books and I want to spend more time with the things I like the most (I said them earlier in this comment) xo Love from Holland

  10. Hey I'm Gabbie I came across this blog from Lyzi's mention on hers. This looks like my kinda blog to follow :) in particular, I'm looking forward to film posts because I'm an avid film watcher. My 2014 goals include try your very best, never be second best, focus on your well being (gym etc) , grab life opportunities , write and draw. I've been playing around with the idea of setting up my own blog. Who knows? I might actually do. All the best! X

    1. Hello, Gabbie! Thanks for stopping by!

We've got a film post coming very soon so we hope you'll enjoy it. You've picked some pretty important goals for 2014. I think you should definitely set up a blog. It's the best decision Bee ever made! We wish you the best of luck :)

  11. Now this sounds like fun- can't wait to read more! Most important things about me (and something that happened in 2013) is that I love to cycle, I like to eat, and of course, I like to talk. My take on life is that it's too damn short to be miserable.

Would love to see foodie recipes- budget and entertaining but with fresh and/or local ingredients, and lots of Woody's gorgeous face and any lovely walks you take. I

  12. I came here through Tori's blog and I'm so glad I did, this sounds like a wonderful project and I can't wait to find out more. You both sound like a great team! My boyfriend had the tough decision of which next gen gaming console to go for too (PS4, ahh!) so I've heard many things about this particular topic lately! My name's Hannah and I blog over at tea three sugars. I'd never thought of myself in an important sense before, but I think the most important things to know about me are that my priorities are loved ones, happiness and honesty. My main goal always is to be happy, and for those I care about to be happy too! I can't wait to see what you post about, and I'm sure with all of your combined skills and interests it will make for wonderful reading :) xxx
